HUMERA continues sponsoring orphaned children in Gaza, to help secure their basic needs and support the families caring for them.
The loss of one or both parents leaves a deep void in a child’s life and increases the need for care, support, and stability. In Gaza, the pain of loss is compounded by difficult living conditions, leaving families who care for orphaned children facing growing responsibilities, including securing their daily needs and supporting them to continue their lives and education.
In response to this need, HUMERA continues to implement the Orphan Sponsorship Project in Gaza, aiming to help provide their basic needs and ease the burdens on the families responsible for their care. The project stems from the Foundation’s belief that sponsorship is an ongoing humanitarian responsibility, giving the child support that helps them grow in an environment that preserves their dignity and considers their needs.
Through the project, HUMERA works to provide support that assists in caring for the sponsored children and contributes to meeting their living requirements within the scope of the project and available resources. This support aims to help their families manage daily affairs and allow greater space to care for their upbringing and education, and to accompany them in facing the difficult changes that have occurred in their lives.
The intended impact of sponsorship extends to enhancing stability in the child’s life and alleviating the financial pressures that may affect access to his needs or his continuation in learning. The presence of continuous support can help the family plan for his needs with greater confidence, and give the child broader opportunities to focus on his studies and engage in activities appropriate to his age, away from bearing burdens beyond his ability.
The project is still ongoing, and through it HUMERA continues to support orphaned children and the families that embrace them, seeking to provide more stable and sustained care. Every contribution to sponsoring a child is a participation in protecting their chances for life and learning, and a message affirming that their future deserves attention, and that they are not alone in facing what they are going through.
