HUMERA distributed infant formula to help meet the nutritional needs of infants and support their families.
Under the difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by families in Gaza, securing appropriate food for infants represents one of the most urgent needs. With difficulty accessing basic supplies and the rising burden of living costs, many families face challenges in providing milk for their children who depend on it, making this daily need a constant source of concern for mothers and fathers.
In response to this need, HUMERA implemented the infant milk distribution project in Gaza to support families who need milk to feed their children and ease some of the burdens they face. The project came as part of the foundation’s efforts to meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable groups and to give special attention to young children in the humanitarian response.
Through the project, HUMERA provided infant milk to the beneficiary families, helping meet part of their children’s nutritional needs during the distribution period. This support served as practical assistance for parents in facing the difficulty of securing milk and eased part of its cost at a time when the demands of food, shelter, and care are converging.
The project also carried a humanitarian dimension connected to the anxiety a family feels for its child; providing a basic need for the child gives the family greater space to focus on caring for them. From this standpoint, the intervention aimed to support both the child and their family, based on the understanding that caring for young children is also linked to supporting those responsible for protecting them and meeting their daily needs.
The infant milk distribution project was completed as a contribution to responding to an urgent nutritional need among the beneficiary families in Gaza. This intervention embodies HUMERA’s commitment to getting closer to people’s needs and providing tangible support that preserves their dignity and gives children their share of care and attention in the most difficult circumstances.
